Who we are

Cancer Care Parcel was founded by Dr Shara Cohen, a scientist and cancer survivor, and is rooted in lived experience, integrity, and practical care.

We focus on delivering support that genuinely helps people through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, as well as supporting families, carers, and professionals who walk alongside them. Whether through a carefully chosen item, a clear piece of information, or a moment of reassurance, our aim is to reduce isolation and overwhelm during one of life’s most difficult experiences.

How we started

Cancer Care Parcel was founded following Dr Shara Cohen’s breast cancer diagnosis in 2013.

Navigating treatment alongside work, family life, and the emotional weight of a diagnosis, Shara recognised how overwhelming cancer can be, and how little practical, calm support is available at the moments people most need it.

Cancer Care Parcel was created to bring moments of comfort, clarity, and reassurance into an experience that often feels relentless. The organisation is shaped by lived experience and a commitment to integrity in what is offered and how support is delivered.

Cancer Care Parcel Ltd operates as a social impact organisation. While it is a limited company, it runs at a loss, with no dividends taken by its founder. All income is reinvested into supporting people affected by cancer.

To provide honest, practical support to anyone affected by cancer, offering comfort without compromise and information without overwhelm. We aim to reduce isolation, provide reassurance, and create meaningful moments of care throughout the cancer journey.
