Free Kidney Cancer Counselling

Description

This free one-to-one counselling service is available to patients, carers and close family affected by kidney cancer over the telephone or via Zoom by appointment only with the charities qualified counsellor.

The counselling offered is a therapeutic, supportive and safe space for clients to feel able to talk confidentially about any issues they are experiencing. There is no cost to this service, it is provided free of charge for up to 12 sessions.

Each caller will have an initial separate assessment to ensure their needs and expectations for counselling are met.

During the assessment you and the counsellor will decide a convenient time for the sessions to take place.

  • A discussion of expectations, outlining goals or aims of the sessions, will be done during the initial assessment.
  • Each session will last 50 minutes and is designed to support the client as best as possible through this emotionally turbulent time
  • Sessions are conducted over the telephone or online via Zoom
  • Sessions are offered in blocks of six with a review at session five. A further blocks of six sessions can be arranged once agreed
  • Sessions will be weekly unless otherwise agreed
