Malecare is America’s leading men’s cancer survivor support and advocacy national nonprofit organization. Malecare, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, run by oncologists, psychologists, and social workers.
Malecare sets the standard for best practice of patient peer to peer support. We push the limits of technology to create personalized cancer information delivery. We design great projects for communities ignored by commercial and mainstream organizations. Our goal is to help men and their loved ones live longer and happier lives.
We have a deep understanding of our patient population. We develop and implement cutting edge methods to service our cancer survivor population.
We’ve pioneered several men’s health programs for underserved populations, like African-American, LGBT and Native American cancer survivors. All of our services are provided without cost to the patient and their family.
Malecare is the world’s first cancer survivor organization to present programs focused on gay and bisexual men’s cancer survivorship, starting in 1998. In 2005, Malecare developed the world’s first cancer survivor program focused on serving all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people, the National LGBT Cancer Project. Malecare currently facilitates the worlds largest gay men’s prostate cancer support network and is internationally recognized for our LGBT cancer patient advocacy and research.
In 2002, Malecare began a program to reduce the disparity of prostate cancer-killing African-American men at twice the rate as Caucasian men, with our African-American Prostate Cancer Research Directory. That program is now known as Twice As Many. Malecare’s Black Dad Connection program, focusing on improving health and parenting skills for African American fathers, began in 2005. Our booklet, Prostate Cancer While Black, is a seminal presentation of the psychosocial and racist barriers faced by Black men with prostate cancer in America.
In 2006, Malecare began the world’s first psychosocial support program to focus on men with advanced stage prostate cancer. Malecare currently facilitates the world’s largest advanced stage prostate cancer support group network.
