The Sussex Cancer Fund was established in 1981 to work with the NHS to create new and improved facilities providing the best possible cancer care for Sussex. Since then, £3 million has been raised to make the Sussex Cancer Centre more attractive, comfortable and effective.
Unlike many charities, costs are exceptionally low with only a very small percentage spent on administration, almost all money donated to us can be spent directly to benefit our patients.
Equipment & Services
We provide additional equipment and services to make patient treatment a little more comfortable.. Things like nice tea and coffee for patients, through to up to date magazines, medical acupuncture to help relieve chemotherapy symptoms and the much relied upon patient car park to name but a few...
We also pay for larger items of equipment, like scanners and chemotherapy chairs, blood pressure monitors and much more.
Building & Facilities
Over the years we have carried out a number of refurbishment projects including reception areas and chemotherapy waiting rooms, through to quiet rooms and ward upgrades. One of our latest building projects was the collaboration to build the Macmillan Horizon Centre.
Research
We regularly fund research projects. In addition to funding research projects we also contribute
towards research equipment.
