For Everyone Touched By Cancer

Cancer eLearning

United Kingdom

The NHS Constitution states that patients have the right to access certain services commissioned by NHS bodies within maximum waiting times, or for the NHS to take all reasonable steps to offer a range of suitable alternative providers if this is not possible.

This training resource has been designed to guide your staff through the Cancer Waiting Times (CWTs) guidance and to assist them to manage pathways more efficiently to deliver an enhanced patient experience and improved Cancer outcomes.

For those of you who are fully aware of 18WeekeLearning the new addition to our portfolio mirrors 18WeekeLearning, providing an all encompassing understanding of the Cancer Waiting Times guidance.

The training consists of two main sections, both with an assessment to check understanding:

Introduction to Administration of Cancer pathways – This section imparts basic knowledge and is specifically targeted at new starters and staff whose dealings with patient pathways are minimal but they still need to understand the consequences of failing to record information correctly and in real time. Staff members would ideally be: Clinic Clerks, Ward Clerks and Receptionists.
When the training is completed, the user may take an assessment.
As with all the assessments, once an attempt has been made there is a facility to revisit the assessment, which will show:
• The questions that were asked
• The answers that were given
• The module to revisit to learn the correct answer

Administration of Cancer pathways – This section is the advanced training and is specifically targeted at staff who require an in-depth understanding of the guidance and patient pathways to enable them to deliver their role effectively and efficiently. Staff members would ideally be: MDT Co-ordinators, Validation Staff, CNS, Service Managers, Medical Secretaries, Clinicians and Senior Managers. The training will guide staff on how to pull patients through the system to deliver them to treatment or discharge in a timely manner. There are links to current related documents to help further awareness and acceptance.
When the training is completed, the end user may take the assessment.
Organisations also use this section as a ‘must have’ when advertising a job role whereby the applicant needs to evidence their extensive Cancer waiting times knowledge.

Why not 'test' your staff on their existing knowledge, free of charge? I will then provide you with a report detailing the knowledge of your staff.
