Charity Liaison Officer

Position Summary:

As a Charity Liaison Officer, your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain relationships with UK and US cancer charities, fostering collaborations and offering our support. Your role will play a crucial part in furthering our mission of making a positive impact in the fight against cancer. We are looking for an individual who possesses enthusiasm, empathy, and personal experience with cancer, either firsthand or through someone close to them. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

Collaboration and Partnership:

  • Identify and research potential UK and US cancer charities for collaboration.
  • Initiate contact with cancer charities, introducing our organization and expressing interest in establishing partnerships.
  • Collaborate with charities to develop joint initiatives, events, and campaigns aimed at raising awareness and supporting cancer patients and their families.
  • Facilitate regular communication and coordination between our organization and partner charities.
  • Seek opportunities for cross-promotion and joint fundraising activities.

Relationship Management:

  • Build strong and meaningful relationships with charity representatives, maintaining a positive and professional image of our organization.
  • Attend charity events, conferences, and networking opportunities to connect with charity stakeholders.
  • Act as the main point of contact for charity representatives, providing information, support, and resources as needed.
  • Regularly update internal teams on ongoing collaborations and upcoming charity events or initiatives.

Fundraising Support:

  • Work closely with future fundraising team to identify and support fundraising opportunities in collaboration with partner charities.
  • Provide assistance in organizing charity fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with future marketing team to develop promotional materials and messaging for charity partnerships.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating the success of fundraising efforts and impact on the cancer community.

Awareness and Education:

  • Coordinate with charities to develop educational materials and resources for cancer patients, survivors, and their families.
  • Assist in organizing educational workshops, webinars, or seminars in collaboration with partner charities.
  • Promote cancer awareness campaigns and initiatives through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and community outreach programs.

Qualifications:

  • Enthusiasm and personal experience with cancer, either through personal diagnosis or supporting someone close to you.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey empathy and compassion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of the UK and US cancer charity landscape is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficient in using standard computer software and online communication tools.
